Sutton House B&B Circa 1980
The Sutton House Has Been A Focal Point and Highly Visible Landmark In Center Harbor For Over One Hundred Years. In the foreground are Steamships Mt. Washington and The Lamprey
25 years ago, Innkeeper Barbara Merrill fell in love with this town near her family's ancestral home and dreamed of running a Center Harbor B&B. Dreams become reality and Sutton House is that dream.   She's traveled the world and is fluent in French and Spanish, hosting a truly international Bed and Breakfast clientelle. (Picture to left is pre-renovation, 'lovely' stucco).

The B&B is decorated in colors and style consistent with the Victorian era and showcases beautiful sculptures in the common rooms. Those familiar with the work of Erte, Basso, Reines, and Bragg will enjoy relaxing in the company of "L'Amour du Vin", "Ecstasy", "Rue de la Paix", "Shooting Star", "Don Quixote", and "Companions".  Recently, Barbara researched the buildings and appearance of Center Harbor circa 1900.  She commissioned a mural that takes one back to the view from across the harbor at that time.
